A couple in the last throes of divorce embark on one last voyage on their beloved barge. Each week, as they moor in a new town, there’s a local mystery to be solved, but as their investigation skills go from strength to strength, their fraught relationship is anything but plain sailing.

Liz, a retired medical secretary and Ned, retired forensic cleansing specialist, each week, encounter a new mystery in different towns along the river, testing their investigative skills and strained relationship. With the help of their daughter Emma and their barging frenemy Frank, a detective on a sabbatical due to mental health issues, they navigate through solving crimes while also delving into the complexities of their past, present, and uncertain future.
